The original St. Peter’s Church of England Primary was built at the top of the hill in Brotton in 1868 and since then two later schools have been built. The first is now used as the St Margaret’s Church Centre, the second being our existing building on the west side of Brotton adjacent to Saltburn Gill, with access to the beach through the woods, which surround the school field on its west side. The present school was opened in 1972 when the school was part of the North Riding of Yorkshire. Since then it has been part of the former Cleveland County and is now within Redcar and Cleveland Unitary Borough, which itself is still within Yorkshire.
